Decorative Concrete

Enhanced Concrete Systems We hear the phrase “decorative concrete” more and more these days, but what does it really mean? Decorative, meaning ornamental rather than functional in purpose, and concrete, meaning the mixing of cement, aggregate and water to create a product that will dry to a stone-like material. When you combine the words you get an ornamental stone-like material that is actually functional or in other words, a substance that provides an aesthetic finish and structural capabilities in one. There are many ways to create decorative concrete such as stamping or imprinting which leaves a lasting textured image; seeded or exposed finishes where you can use special aggregates, glass, shells, etc. to create beautiful textures; adding colorations like acid, water-base and penetrating dyes and stains, integral or topical pigments; saw cutting graphics and geometrical designs. All of these add to the decorative aspects that ordinary gray concrete lacks. At CCI we have a team of craftsmen that can help you with your decorative project from the design phase to the final installation to create a lasting impression that will inspire for years to come. We can also build beautiful and functional concrete counter-tops, fireplace surrounds, intricate micro-topping and overlay flooring system, and state of the art polished floors. We truly believe the real meaning of “decorative concrete” should be left to the individual’s aspirations or simply put “limitless concrete”. picture of decorative concrete image of decorative concrete in san diego Textured microtopping pool deck with sawcut pattern at The Legend in Downtown San Diego.
